Deleting build configuration does not seem to reclaim space

Parabuild version: 4.0.56

I had several build configurations with gigabytes of result files associated with them. I deleted all of them and waited about 3 days. The disk usage of my parabuild directory on the build server has not changed. There should be at least 50GB reclaimed. Parabuild process still is pegged and it still seems like it is doing something even when idle, however it is has been 3 days now and no change.

We have fixed the cleanup problem in one of the later releases.

Two questions:

1. Which release is the fix in? 4.1?

2. If I upgrade to 4.1, what happens to all the 'orphaned' build results that never got cleaned up in my current release? Is there no way to delete them now?

I believe it was fixed in 4.0.59. The system should cleanup all results.

Just upgraded to 4.1, however all my 'orphaned' results have not been cleaned up. My parabuild directory is around 600gb (of result files) and it should be around 200gb.

Ashwin,

The cleanup process runs around 2AM in the morning. When did you upgrade?

Oh ok. I just upgraded now, thought it would clean up on parabuild start.

So at 2am it should clean up orphaned results? By orphaned I mean build configurations that I deleted before on the older version of parabuild that did not clean up the results.

Okay, it has been almost 7 hours after 2am, and the directory space is still the same. How do I know if it even attempted a cleanup?

Ashwin,

It looks like there is a bug in the result cleanup service where Parabuild considers only builds that haven't been deleted.

We will address this problem within next few days. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I updated to the new build yesterday, and checked again just now. No space has been reclaimed.
